Recipes Using the
SHGL-307 Food Processor
Slicing Function
Shredded Brussels
Sprouts
1 lb brussels sprouts
1 tbsp maple syrup
¼ tsp salt
2 tbsp margarine
Using the Slicing
disc, slice all the Brussels sprouts. After they are all
sliced, pick through them and remove the center of the
sections (the tough, solid stem). While doing this, also
break the slices into shredded segments with your
hands. Place the shredded sprouts in a steamer and steam
over high heat for 7-10 minutes or until they are
slightly tender. Meanwhile, add the maple syrup, salt
and margarine to a medium mixing bowl. Add the Brussels
sprouts to the bowl and toss until the sauce is melted
and blended together. Serve immediately.
Slicing and
Blender Functions:
Steak Fajitas
1 lb flank or skirt steak
1 large yellow onion sliced and cut into thin strips
2 large bell peppers sliced and cut into thin strips
*you may slice the above ingredients with the slicing
disk!
Marinade:
Juice from 1 lime
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic
½ tsp ground cumin
½ jalapeno pepper – seeded and ribs removed
¼ cup fresh cilantro
Mix all the marinade ingredients together in the food
processor.
Let the steak sit in
the marinade for at least an hour (the longer is sits,
the more flavorful the steak!). Heat a large cast iron
pan or griddle to high heat. Add a tsp of olive oil to
the pan. Add the steak and fry on each side for 3
minutes or until desired doneness (3 minutes per side
will produce a medium rare steak). If the pan starts to
smoke too much, reduce the heat to medium high. Remove
the steak from the pan and let sit for 5 minutes. Reduce
the pan heat to medium high if you have not already. If
necessary, add a little more oil to the pan. Add the
onions and bell peppers. Cook, stirring frequently, 5
minutes or until the onions are slightly
translucent. Slice the meat against the grain into thin
slices. Serve immediately with shredded cheese, salsa,
sour cream, shredded lettuce, guacamole or avocado and
warm flour tortillas.

Grinder Function:
Homemade Peanut
Butter
Peanuts
Optional – Oil (such as vegetable oil) and salt
To grind nuts it’s
best to do it in small batches. Again, pulse the food
processor until you get the size desired. Scrape down
the sides of the bowl often. The Liv Sure food processor
is great for making nut butter and also for finely
chopped nuts. Tip: when chopping nuts for
recipe use, you may add a teaspoon or two of granulated
sugar. This allows you to finely chop the nuts without
them turning into butter.
Put the peanuts into
your food processor and grind on pulse until the peanut
butter is as chunky or smooth as you like it. Add a
little oil and/or salt to taste if you want to. Be sure
to refrigerate the homemade peanut butter since it does
not contain any preservatives.
